“Time is a storm in which we are all lost.”
― William Carlos Williams

I can see it coming from the edge of the roof
(2018)

When feeling emotional distress, we dissociate from reality. This suffering can be generated by changes in our own reality or by changes in our way of perceiving the world. Maybe both. Regardless of the path that suffering takes, time, memory, nostalgia, loneliness, are recurrent concepts that work as triggers. Each individual lives them in a unique and non-transferable way.

Submerged in this storm, it is difficult -impossible even- to see that “this too shall pass” (Milena Busquets, 2015). Perhaps, to put light into those stories, might set us free from our loneliness.

Still to come
(2014-2018)

And then we perceive the thrill. It is there, we carry it within. Longing, that irrepressible emotion that makes us unbeatable against nothingness; the engine that always roars into the future. And like all brute forces, it hurts. The skin it’s slowly ripped apart, one inch at a time. Meanwhile, the conflict between desire and reality continues, battle after battle. In our body the wound is beating stronger: the desire to have wings, the desire to fly, keeps us alive.

Longing , the source of energy that gives us breath even in the darkest winters. The impulse is born in the bowels and occupies our thinking. And the time comes. Jump from the nest. Surrounded by contradictions and without any certainty that heaven will be ours, we inflate the lungs with those delirious emotions to become, finally, invincible beings.

And we are. Even without meeting the person we had imagined we would become.

<< Because the simple act of throwing oneself into the void implies that you can not return to the impulse. >>. Pascal Quignard, Butes (2011).

Lo que está por llegar
(2014-2018)

Pascal Quignard, Butes (2011).
